A Letter from Miss Laws…
My darling clients,
To start with a cliche….
When I was a child, my mom worried that I would never focus my sights on one dream. I was always dabbling in everything and, quite frankly, I truly wanted to be everything. I suppose I still do. I would dream of things and they felt so real- so attainable. As I’ve grown, it takes more conscientious effort to perceive the world in the same way- to still experience life with awe.
I can’t say that I have settled on any one thing yet, but what I do know is that I live to storytell. The most rewarding part of commission work is getting to know the person I’m dressing. Your beliefs, desires, dreams, and hardships. It’s not so much about the materials- but it’s how I use them to reflect my client. I think most of us- as adults- don’t expect much. We don’t expect luxury or magnificence. It is easy to lose that wonder over time. But my goal is to show my clients that they can have those things- that they still deserve to dream as many dreams as they want. And I should act as one of many vessels to materialize those dreams.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support and your trust. Let’s chat soon, okay?
Your humble couturière,
Miss Maya Laws
